 Niagara Falls – One of The World’s New Wonders. The Niagara Falls is the most powerful waterfalls and one of the most important tourist attractions in North America.    Niagara Falls is located on the Niagara River in Western New York and South Eastern Ontario and separates the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York is one of the most spectacular natural miracles of the continent.
Niagara name was given by Native Americans, which translated means “thundering water”. Niagara Falls is nearly 25,000 years old, being built on an island bed of the Silurian period between 395 and 400 million years ago. From 1800 to waterfall is open for visiting tourists. The huge waterfall, with a maximum height of 56 meters (as a block with 21 floors) and a length of 790 meters, Niagara Falls was first discovered and studied by a U.S. geologist – Roy Spencer. It is comprised of two massive waterfalls, the Horseshoe Falls which is 2600 feet wide and 173 feet high and the American Falls which is 1060 feet wide and 182 feet high.
the water flowing over the Falls is maintained at 100,000 cubic feet per second. This level of water flow is what 12 million visitors come to see each year
It is not only a major tourist attraction for people around the world but is also a source of Hydroelectric power.
